AT&T announced new data plans for iPhone and iPad owners today. The short of it: The unlimited data option is gone, and tethering has arrived. The new plan features three options:

DataPlus – 200 MB of data for $15 per month

DataPro – 2 GB of data for $25 per month

Tethering Options – Smartphone customers who choose the DataPro plan can add tethering for an additional $20 per month. With tethering, you can use your smartphone as a modem to provide a broadband connection for laptop computers, netbooks, or other computing devices.
The only way to get tethering is with the Pro plan, which means $45. We interviewed an AT&T rep at TUAW and got some great answers to common questions. Check it out.
