Politics and the scientific community

June 20th, 2008 § 0 comments

Ged posted a message to Twitter about the launch of a joint US-French Satellite meant to track and monitor climate change, and I thought of the scientific community’s willingness to embrace nations that their political representatives would shun. From the MIR to this satellite and a whole history that preceeds both, these men and women are able to recognize that the persuit of knowledge to benefit all of humanity is greater than adolescent name-calling that keeps the rest of the world at war. Sad.
