Note: I’m going to talk about the plot details of Battlestar Galactica in this post. If you aren’t caught up to the finale of season three, stop reading NOW. You have been warned. This is the last safe sentence you can read.

Sharing the love

My buddy Dave Chartier, in a post entitled “Dave Caolo is a Rickrolling jerk“:

“Congratulations are in order to Dave Caolo—of TUAW and Kaylow fame—for officially becoming the first person to ever successfully rickroll me…”

I rule.

Adobe has released Photoshop Express, a web-based photo editing and organizational app. I’ve only played with it briefly, but what I’ve seen is amazing.

Your free account includes 2GB of photo storage.

More on 10,000 BC

March 26th, 2008 § 0 comments § permalink

It’s no secret that I despise 10,000 BC. Tractor Facts dismantles it from another angle:

“D’Leh … fights killer ostriches, horse-whispers to a saber tooth, gets mystical about the moon, plants crops, and leads a legion of black men into liberating themselves (and pyramid slaves) from The Almighty. That last bit comes off as more than a little condescending, because, for some inexplicable reason, large villages of capable black warriors are unable to rise up until a white man shows them the way.”

If you haven’t seen it, don’t. It’s a masterpiece of crap.

I’ve fixed a few things that were irking me here on the site. First, the front page displays the full text of a post, including links and images.

The footer navigation now matches the header. Since I’m using the Notebook page as a catch-all for aside-type posts, I no longer need the sidebar mini blog.

Next on the agenda: Work on the articles index page.

I’m using Asaph to power my new Notebook page. This should be a fun little experiment.

Update: I’m loving it. Certainly a beta, but with huge potential.

The dumb things kids do

It’s Monday, and my latest story is up at Parenting, The Dumb Things Kids Do:

“In 1989, my friend Doug drove a sky blue Plymouth Horizon Coupe. Despite its status as a 4 cylinder econo-box, the automotive equivalent of a grey-haired old lady, Doug drove the Horizon as if it were a Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile-certified Rally Car … an irresistible invitation to trouble for four teenage boys….”
